Below is some information about our upcoming church weekend which hopefully will answer questions you may have and direct you to how you can book on. If you have any questions, please email office@becchurch.org.uk or pop into the office at 14 Main Street, Bilton, just above Treacles at Mosaic.

Vision and ethos

Thanking God as we Celebrate 50 Years | Enjoying Relationships & Connection in the Present | Hoping for the Future Together

In light of this, a significant part of the weekend will be given to sowing into relationships and enjoying connection as a community, in amongst busy lives and a busy church life!

Dates, venue and timings

The Hayes Conference Centre, Swanwick, Derbyshire, DE55 1AU - https://www.cct.org.uk/the-hayes/the-hayes-conference-centre

Arrival on Friday at 5pm, Checkout from Bedrooms on Sunday at 10am, Departures on Sunday at 5pm.

Accommodation

The Hayes has a great variety of bedrooms - singles, twins, doubles and family rooms. They can also supply z-beds and cots as required.

All of their rooms are en-suite and many are accessible for anyone with reduced mobility. They also include complimentery towels, tea and coffee and wi-fi access.

Food and refreshments

The hospitality team at The Hayes have put together an amazing fully catered package for us! This includes a cooked or continental breakfast, mid-morning coffee, a buffet lunch, afternoon tea and an evening meal.

Free tea and coffee will be available all day, every day, and the only thing you have to pay for outside of what’s already covered is any drinks you choose to purchase from the bar, which is open in the evenings.

The venue are happy to cater for any food allergies and intolerances; as well as any special dietary requirements and you can let us know about these when you book on.

Gatherings and Guest speaker

There will be 3-4 main worship gatherings over the weekend and we’ll mainly be in the Derbyshire Hall, The Hayes’ largest meeting room, which provides a great opportunity for us to worship all together and across the ages. We’ve also been really looked after with a variety of breakout spaces which gives us the flexibility to run dedicated groups for children and young people, as needed.

Our guest speaker, Rev. Anne Calver, will be joining us for the Saturday! She is pioneering ‘Unleashed;’ primarily a movement of family seeking to be like the Acts Church, moving with the Spirit to rescue and release many to be true disciples who make disciples through new expressions of ministry. She is also a trained Baptist minister and author.

Rest and play

We’re not planning for the weekend to be overprogrammed with loads of seminars etc. It’s not that type of weekend! However, there will be plenty of opportunity to socialise, connect with others, enjoy some spiritual refreshment and play some sports and games. The venue is located on 100 acres of gardens and grounds, there are reading areas, games rooms, family and sports facilities. There’s even a gym for anyone that fancies it!

The great thing about going away as a whole church is that there’s so many different spiritual pathways represented and so many different ways people enjoy filling their tanks. With this in mind, you can let us know if there’s something you’d like to lead or help facilitate when you book on.

Bookings and payment

The cost of the weekend is £195 per adult; which covers the whole weekend, including all your food, refreshments and accommodation. Children and young people (Year 13s (or equivalent) at the time of the weekend will be counted as being Young People) will be able to come for free!

We completely understand that £195 is a significant amount of money and, particularly with cost of living in mind, we don’t want finance to be a barrier to anyone who would love to be a part of this milestone weekend and we’ve, therefore, budgeted accordingly. When you book on, there will be various ticket options to choose from and an opportunity to let us know if you’d like to discuss an instalment plan or a subsidised ticket.

There is also a ‘pay it forward’ option for people who would like to contribute towards someone else going.
